RECOGNITION OF PEARL HARBOR

On December 7, 1941, Pearl Harbor was attacked. Tragically, 2,403 Americans perished during the attack, including 68 civilians.

On this National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, we honor and uphold the memory of the patriots who lost their lives that day — “a date which will live in infamy” — and we reflect on the courage of all those who served our Nation with honor in the Second World War.

Preventing N95 Mask Injuries

According to the National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel (NPIAP) , N95 respirator mask users are at a high risk for facial injury “Ulcers, abrasions and open wounds” due to requirements for a tight fit. The NPIAP suggests that N95 users remove the mask for 15 minutes every 2 hours to reduce the risk of injury. This must be done while practicing social distancing in a well-ventilated or outdoor area.

Luckily, there are various treatments should a facial in jury occur from mask use.

City Safety can help with training, programs, and visual inspections to ensure proper use of PPE on your site.
