All licenses/registrations and permits issued by the Department of Buildings and expiring from the beginning of the declaration of the state of emergency through the period of the emergency declaration are extended in accordance with Mayoral Emergency Executive Order.
Currently, this period has been extended to June 7, 2020. Approved sites need to post a new Certificate of Authorization with the expiration date of June 7, 2020.
DOB Updates (State of Emergency is extended until June 7, 2020): 1. All projects that are active during the COVID shut-down must now post a new Certificate of Authorization that is obtained through DOB Now by opening the Essential Construction tab, entering your job number and printing the certificate. This certificate is now valid until June 7, 2020. 2. All permits that expire during the shut-down are automatically extended to June 7, 2020. However, all insurances need to be valid. The permit renewal process is unchanged. 3.All license expiration dates that fall within the shut-down period will be extended until June 7, 2020. License renewals can be completed through the BIS options portal in DOB Now by entering the renewal application, required documents, and making payment. |
