Workers and supervisors must complete site safety training refresher courses before they can renew their cards.

Refresher training must be taken no more than one year before applying for card renewal.

DID YOU KNOW? It is not necessary for workers or supervisors to retake full OSHA training courses; the refresher training pathways fully meet the requirements for card renewals.

Workers Refresher Training

To renew SST cards, workers must complete 8 hours of refresher training by choosing one of the following course programs:

Option A:

• 4-Hour Fall Prevention
• 4-Hour Supported Scaffold User & Refresher

Option B:

• 4-Hour Fall Prevention
• 4-Hour Prescribed – SST Renewal Course

Supervisors Refresher Training

To renew supervisor SST cards, supervisors must complete 16 hours of refresher training by choosing one of the following course programs:

Option A:

• 8-Hour Fall Prevention
• 4-Hour Supported Scaffold User & Refresher
• 4-Hour Prescribed – SST Renewal Course

OR

Option A:

• 8-Hour Fall Prevention and
• 8-Hour Site Safety Manager Refresher/Chapter 33

OR

Option C:

• 8-Hour Site Safety Manager Refresher/Chapter 33
• 4-Hour Fall Prevention
• 4-Hour Prescribed – SST Renewal Course
