Course Description: This 10-hour Construction safety awareness course was developed by the U.S. Department of Labor for construction workers, supervisors, and other personnel responsible for construction activities. All attendees will become familiar with reading and using OSHA 29CFR 1926 construction standards.
Topics include:
• Introduction to OSHA.
• Worker’s rights, employer responsibilities.
• Safety Data Sheets.
• OSHA Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses (OSHA Form 300).
• OSHA Focus Four Hazards.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Material handling, storage, use and disposal.
• Scaffolds
• Stairways and ladders
• Hand and power tools
Pre-requisites: There are no pre-requisites for this course.
Objectives: Upon completion of this course, students will be able to identify, abate, avoid and prevent job related hazards. Students will receive a wallet-sized course completion card.
Course Materials: Handbook will be distributed in class.
